Saintly Ventures is a live, pitch-style event (May 02, as part of St. Joseph’s Fair) spotlighting Catholic entrepreneurs, business owners, nonprofits and what-not who are building rewarding Catholic ventures rooted in faith, ethics, and mission.

Great honor has been given to conventional heroics and novel innovations. And rightly so.

But this is also an opportunity to reward the outstanding, as well as the commonplace and less prominent — but nevertheless critical — good works being done in, for, or by the Church!

Applicants must
  • Be founders, co-founders, majority owners, and have executive decision making ability within their organization
  • Be actively (broadly construed) operating or preparing to launch a business/project/venture
  • Be willing to publicly discuss how the Catholic faith informs their venture
  • Operate in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis
  • Be present members of the St. Joseph Business Guild (If you’re not a member, just apply! To do so, contact info@sjbusinessguild.com)
  • Apply by April 05 (Easter Sunday). Applications will not be considered after April 05.
  • Be for profit or nonprofit
  • Early-stage, startup, or established and looking to grow
  • Be asked for additional info beyond what is included in the initial application

Finalists will present their ventures live before Catholic business leaders, mentors, and general faithful. The goal is not only to help presenters secure funding, but also gain visibility, encouragement, and other material and spiritual support from the faithul. We want to help founders grow sustainable ventures that serve the common good and the family of faith.

And we want to encourage others among the faithful to take part in building!

Saintly Ventures Initial Application

Please answer the following questions thoughtfully and honestly. Strong applications are clear, concrete, and mission-driven.

Finalists will make a live pitch of their venture before an in-person audience and judges.

  • Live pitch:  5 minutes
  • Judge Q&A:  5 minutes

Finalists will receive pitch guidelines and coaching support prior to the event.
